Plug-and-play battery electronics
Plug-and-play edge devices for high-voltage battery safety and monitoring, by Lithostack™.

Technology
We at Lithostack™ build off-the-shelf edge devices for high voltage battery monitoring.
Each one is plug-and-play:
it joins the same network, measures at the source, and reports to the central controller.
Advantages
Each device is a server on the shared network: the central controller takes the safety decisions with the whole system in view, and the devices carry them out. They are Safety Elements out of Context, designed to the safety integrity level each function needs under ISO 26262 or IEC 61508, up to ASIL D. Each states the assumptions of use you confirm on integration.
Each device does one job. Take the ones the system needs, and add another when it needs more.
Hardware keying gives every device its address on the shared network.
More packs means only more edge devices, all reporting to one controller.
Products
A device for each part of the system, all on one shared network.
High voltage, pack current and isolation resistance measurement, with open/close control of up to four contactors.
In development ↗Brick/Cell voltages and module temperatures from all the daisy-chained Battery Voltage Monitoring Boards along the pack.
Concept ↗Pack current across the full operating range, from standby leakage to peak discharge.
Concept ↗Early detection of a thermal event inside the pack, reported to the central controller.
Concept ↗Where it fits
Because a device assumes nothing about what it is fitted to, the same part goes into a vehicle, a grid installation or a data centre unchanged. Put several devices by Lithostack™ on one network and they cover the whole battery system.
About
Each member of the founding team at Lithostack™ has over a decade of engineering experience building safety-critical automotive ECUs. Between them they have carried products from concept through ISO 26262 qualification into series production. Their work spans battery management systems, high-power charger controllers, high-performance EV powertrains, high-voltage electronics, grid-scale energy storage, cell modelling and state estimation, and manufacturing.
